Laser Stage The Laser Stage shown is a good example of Micromech’s ability to combine various motion control technologies to supply a custom built 3-axis stage assembly.

The long axis is a stepper with a 1 micron liner encoder, the cross axis is a piezo legs with a 1 micron encoder on it and the lifting axis is a stepper thruster which can resolve 1 micron over +/-10mm travel.
These pictures feature a custom positioning stage service, suitable for beam line applications and others high precision needs.

New from Yaskawa is the ready-to-install SGT integrated linear slider with environment ratings to IP67. The all-in-one solution consists of base plate with linear motor, bearings, encoder carriage plate and cover with a cable management system featuring plug in cabling to a Servo Drive. The solution requires virtually no future maintenance.

SGTThe standard linear slider versions are available in four frame sizes with force ratings from 80N to 1200N and peak forces reaching 1200N. Standard units are available up to 2m travel, with custom solutions as long as 6m in length being available.

The linear slide features extremely high positioning accuracy and allows highly dynamic moves, even at their highest travel speeds. Furthermore the short stabilization time has the advantage of helping to increase machine throughput. Its high efficiency ensures low energy consumption and because of its very simple integration into a system there are considerable engineering expense reductions of installation.

SGTWhen used with the perfectly matched YASKAWA SIGMA5 servo amplifiers, the linear sliders can achieve approximately 30% faster positioning times than the previous generation of Yaskawa linear motor and thus also increase productivity by an additional 30%.

Due to a specially designed and developed surface coating, the units may be cleaned using aggressive detergents and pressure washers. This makes the SGT Linear slider ideal for a range of application from tough environments such as printing and food process to clean environments such as laser scribing and processing.

sgtAs an option these innovative slides can also be prepared for customised applications such as multi axis gantry systems and X-Y configurations systems.

These modules from Trinamic are complete embedded motion control solutions that also retain the potential for customisation. They are ready to use and can be easily integrated into the user application and at an amazing unbeatable price/performance ratio.

PANdriveThe TMCM-110-42 is an intelligent stepper motor controller and driver module designed to be mounted directly on a 42mm flange motor. The module converts the motor into a compact mechatronic device with bus oriented or stand-alone control.

The motor, switches, power and the multi purpose I/O’s can be connected with small plug in connectors. It comes with the PC based software development environment TMCL-IDE for the Trinamic Motion Control Language (TMCL™). Using predefined TMCL™ high level commands like ‘move to position’ or ‘constant rotation’ a rapid and fast development of motion control applications is guaranteed. There are two inputs for reference, stop switches and one general purpose digital or analogue input and one output.

The TMCM-110-42 can be controlled via an RS-232, RS-485, I²C or CAN interface and communication traffic is kept very low since all time critical operations, e.g. ramp calculation are performed onboard. The programme can be stored in the on board EEPROM for stand-alone operation; furthermore the firmware of the Trinamic module can be updated via the serial interface. With the clever stallGuard™ feature it is possible to detect motor overload or motor stall without the need for an encoder.

The main features include, up to 16 times microstepping, memory for 2048 TMCL™ commands, automatic ramp generation in hardware and on the fly alteration of motion parameters (e.g. position, velocity, acceleration). There is in addition stallGuard™ option for sensorless motor stall detection, full step frequencies up to 20kHz, dynamic current control and due to TRINAMIC driver technology no heatsink required.

The module is available on its own or together with a 42mm motor (NEMA 17) as mechatronic solution named PANdrive PD-110-42. The motor supply voltage is 7V to 34V and up to 1.1A coil current RMS (1.5A peak). Three different motor sizes are available.
