The Sigma-5 CANopen provides an interface for a CANopen communication network which enables the user to achieve high-speed distributed control with a high level of reliability

The SGDV-OCB01A is an add-on board, which is compatible with the Sigma-5 series command option attachable amplifiers. CANopen is the protocol commonly used widely in the test and material handling industry; the specification of this protocol is maintained and developed by the CiA organisation

The CANopen network module offers a wide range of functions including profile position mode, homing mode, interpolated position mode, profile velocity mode and torque profile mode. There is 1 sub D 9 pole connector and 2 LEDs for status indication.

It conforms to many required standards: CiA specifications, safety standard UL508, material compliance UL94V-0 and RoHS directive 2002/95/EC. In addition it meets the WEEE directive 2002/96/EC, the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC and the EMC directive 89/336/EEC models.

The new Parker SSD AC30V drive series sets the pace

The AC30V is the first of an entirely new generation of drives products from

Initially available in 3 frame sizes with standard dual mounting options of either IP20 back-plate or through-panel mounting, the AC30V will cover the power range 0.75kW to 18.5kW (variable torque rating). Fully enclosed IP55 and cold-plate mount versions along with extended power capabilities up to 110kW will be introduced progressively.             Its modular design has enabled Parker to create a drive which will evolve to include customised variants for complex process, or specialised applications. This modularity also reduces the inventory requirements and associated costs for the stockist or end-user alike.

An all new easy-to-use graphical keypad provides full access to all drive functions simply and intuitively. The clear and easy-to-read backlit LCD display can present information in any one of ten different languages including simplified Chinese.

With the integrated configuration wizard, it is now possible for users to configure the drive in a matter of minutes without having to be an expert. The wizard guides the user through the set-up procedure in a number of simple steps and automatically takes care of the majority of the drive parameters. Once configured, an autotune function ensures the drive is optimised to the motor, and drive parameters can then be stored on a standard SD card for backup, or be used to set up other drives.

AC30V has been designed with simplicity in mind, but this doesn’t compromise its functionality. Integrated macros for a range of applications and PLC functionality enable more capable users to create sophisticated control that would previously have required a separate PLC. More flexibility can be provided by the addition of one of the numerous optional field-fittable I/O cards that are available.

For users with minimal control and diagnostic requirements, the free to download ‘Drive Quicktool‘ software package enables users to configure, monitor and control the drive simply and easily from a laptop computer. Once again the simplicity doesn’t compromise the functionality as the software enables users to connect either directly to the drive, or across a LAN network. Automatic detection of the drives IP address by the software makes it easier for the user to correctly identify the AC30 drives from other equipment that may be on the same network.

AC30V has been designed for use in even the most arduous of environments. With an extended operating temperature range of 0°C to 50°C, conformal coating to 3C3 as standard, integrated EMC filter to C2 1st environment and integrated DC choke to reduce line harmonics, customers can be confident that it will operate in any application. Furthermore it will not have a negative effect on other electrical systems in the immediate area in accordance with EN61800-3.

With Ethernet communication as standard and integrated user configurable web pages, the AC30V is ready from the box to fit into many new or existing applications. However, the AC30V can also integrate seamlessly into other industrial networks with the addition of optional communications cards. It supports a host of popular fieldbus such as Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet IP, Bacnet, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, CANopen and Modbus TCP/IP.

  • Energy-savings – dedicated pump and fan macros
  • Any motor – control algorithm optimised for either AC induction or PMAC motors
  • Harsh environments – conformally coated as standard and split cooling paths for power and control electronics
  • Flexibility – removable cassette fan, field fitting options, panel mount or through panel as standard
  • Ease of configuration – integrated commissioning wizard, selectable multi-language and LCD display
  • Seamless integration – Ethernet and Modbus TCP/IP as standard, safe torque off (STO) – EN13849 PLe

Easy to configure

  • Graphical keypad
  • Simple set-up wizard and macros

The AC30V will maximise productivity and since it is quick and easy to install, reduces set up costs. Designed and built to international standards it incorporates essential safety and environmental features for today’s users. Its modular design means customised variants for complex process or specialised applications can be easily installed.
